BOOM! Attorney: Jerry Sandusky family member made recent allegations
The attorney for Jerry Sandusky says one of the two new cases of alleged sexual abuse under investigation by Children and Youth Services was made by a family member.

The Patriot-News reported yesterday that the new cases were reported less than 60 days ago and are in the initial stages of investigation.

Attorney Joe Amendola said the allegations stem from difficulties within the child's immediate family. He said the assault is alleged to have occurred prior to Sandusky's arrest earlier this month, but was not brought to the authorities attention until after the former Penn State coach was charged.

The Patriot-News is withholding the child's relationship to Sandusky to shield the child's identity.

If these two cases are found to be credible, they would be the first known cases to be reported  since Sandusky's arrest that would involve children. All of the other young men who came forward to the grand jury and since indictments were handed down are now over 18, even though the assaults are alleged to have occurred when they were as young as seven or eight years old.

Sandusky was indicted Nov. 4, charged with 40 counts of sex crimes against boys after an almost three-year grand jury investigation.

1. Sandusky's daughter-in-law got a restraining order right after he was arrested and released.
He is not permitted to see those grandchildren. I am wondering if it's one of them.....

2. And that mofo is still running around free? LOCK HIM THE HELL UP!
He's had years of free access to children. Who knows how many victims can't bear going public? Good grief, the man is ghastly!

9. Without so much as one of those tracking bracelets on his ankle
thanks to a judge for whom he helped raise funds.

Call in the Feds.

11. That judge was replaced.

All judges in Centre County have recused themselves.
One of the new judges presided over the trial of the judges who exchanged sending kids to jail for cash. They got smacked.
There are 2 new cases involving 15 year old boys who are members of the Sandusky family.
Sandusky could be jailed now or at the next preliminary hearing at the beginning of Decmber.

5. Did you notice (in newspaper accounts) that Sandusky
and his wife adopted six children (a girl for you-5 boys for me) and that he didn't get busted for child rape (molestation!) until his youngest sons left home for college? I've been waiting for the other shoe to drop on this. Pathological bastard. I wonder if the daughter-in-law's husband objected when she insisted on an order of protection... Doubt it.

7. In the article I read a week or two ago, her husband is one of the
ones who is still supporting him.

8. Missed that.
It must be pretty tense at their house if that is the case. Although covering for the evildoer, especially for men who have endured sexual abuse, is usually the first course of action. The timeline in the original story gave me pause.

will still be coming courtesy of Pennsylvania. Only it will be State Pen and not Penn State. If this klown is convicted - which I would venture is highly likely - lock him up and throw away the key. Child molesters do not have an easy go of it in The Big House.

10. Why is his attorney making such announcements?

Seems like a really unusual "strategy."

12. Trying to get ahead of the rumors
and seem on top of things for whatever reason. Probably didn't want the prosecutors to announce it in a news conference as a bombshell. It is still a big story, but his statement might take a little of the effect off of such an announcement.
I'm not sure if that will work because it hasn't gained traction yet. A news conference would give it a large audience who haven't heard about it.

13. Also, release stuff like this just at the beginning of a long holiday weekend.
Rather shrewd, really. The day before Thanksgiving. A lot of the programming is being truncated for the holiday. Lots of the A-level people are on vacation this week. Rachel had a fill-in, Melissa Harris Perry, on MSNBC Wednesday evening, and David Shuster subbed for Olberman, for example. The conventional term for it is called the "Friday Night News Dump" 'cause it happens on a Friday night before a weekend full of football coverage or everybody's-out-all-day-shopping. And by the time the newsrooms think it's time to care, either for the Sunday talk shows or - maybe in a case like this, picking up on it for the Monday shows, nobody'll care anymore, because other stuff has happened in the meantime that trumped it.
