LOL RushBo starting up old bait & switch, 2012 edition
Palin now playing the Fred Thompson role of somebody who hasn't got a chance in hell of winning, who he excites the Freepers with until she doesn't run/drops out (because of being victimized/persecuted of course!) and then he will very very reluctantly announce that although you KNOW he was all for Palin, but we can't SURVIVE another term of the Marxist Messiah!! So really the best thing to do is vote for big $$ Corporate RNC guy.

This is like the play Love Letters, same old corny plot, different actors in the role! Luckily for Rush the dittoheads are nothing if not GULLIBLE.

So Palin is the (Thompson) bait, who's the (McCain) switch? Romney? I can't imagine after he did so poorly last time. But he has the $$$ and connections to get more...

Anyhow Rush is telling the morAns that Palin is gonna win in - WAIT FOR IT - A LANDSLIDE! She's gonna MOP THE FLOOR WITH HIM! Not even gonna be CLOSE! Freepers doing the happy dance.

Rush, the architect of "Operation Chaos" has spoken so it MUST be true....

"Heard it live on Rush’s show today.
It was awesome to hear him say it.

Can we just imagine what it will feel like to have

PRESIDENT PALIN...

The left and a lot of the fake right, will be devastated.

I can’t wait to vote for her."

3. Looks like a measure of sanity has crawled into the thread...
give me a break. I love Rush and I listen every darn day, but he is wrong on this... Zero would win in a landslide against Palin. I have to say though, it sure would be nice if I were the one who is wrong.. don’t think so..

4. ZOT!!
I don't think THAT kind of "free" is what Free Republic is all about! Somebody started a spinoff forum of FR just for the zotted. Their stories were interesting. Basically JR has gone completely off the rails and now pretty much kicks out anybody who disagrees with him, or doesn't bow down & worship at Sarah's red high heels.

But then again I can't see the evangelical vote going to Romney either and they can't win without THAT....

16. Huckabee?
Governor (bonus! He finished his term!)
Witty (I'd love to have a diet cola with him)
Intelligent (comparatively speaking)
Charismatic
Fundy

Cons for the general

Too crazy fundy to get elected.

Bloomberg maybe.

But he is from that communistic New York City and he wants terrorists to build a mosque on ground zero.

17. To me Huckabee is the most viable because
He is so comfortable on camera and not a chickenshit like Quitter -- he'll go on Bill Maher, whatever. And he sort of always ends up coming across pretty decent. The Freeps hate him though cuz he's a (wait for it) LIBERAL! huh??

credible candidate. All that stuff will get glossed over.

YOU ARE STARTING TO MAKE ME SCARED, lol.

He does have incredible media skills. Very personable. Even though his politics are AWFUL, I admire the way he dropped all that weight and got his health under control. (and I love how he defended Michelle Obama's work on childhood obesity in the face of the Palinator's "Goverment wants to Outlaw Treats" bullshit.

OMG I liked the way he did that Michelle Obama thing too!! That's terrifying. LOL. Well I've read a lot of Republicans saying how scared we are of Quitter but actually I find Huck the scariest of the bunch.

11. In all fairness, the sane Freepers know Palin doesn't stand a chance of being nominated.
What they, sadly, do not understand is that the rich people that run the Republican Party won't allow it.

14. Well I counted ONE sane one on the thread then
These Freepers should make Sarah a little nervous with the rapturous stalker talk! Check out this guy:

"They know she’s inevitable.

They knew it the first time they saw her.

It's why they go insane every time they think of her."

um....did you say SANE?

12. The Republican bench is pretty thin
None of their current crop of potential nominees looks very good, and they all got beat by McCain in a highly desultory primary contest. McCain won by default when one after another each candidate's campaign just sort of petered out. Even McCain's campaign went moribund for a while until he climbed back in.

Who's going to step up? Hard to say. All of the current names being bruited about are pretty laden with baggage from 2008. It may be someone totally new and at this time very little-known, which is highly unusual for the Republicans.
