The day we gorge ourselves and celebrate our successful conquest
of the North American continent. In typical American fashion, as we feast like there is no tomorrow and use world resources as if we are the only truly important people in the world. This leads to reflection, and I feel we owe an apology to the world for the way our country has acted so far with the start of the new century. I wish we could issue a collective apology -
"Sorry, we have fucked up pretty badly since 2000, invading countries, bombing the hell out of people, and all around acting like a complete dick, we can do much better"

5. Personally...
I'm celebrating being a dour buzzkill who tries to suck the joy out of any occasion I can find, by criticizing the occasion and our society, and then issuing an overly pious apology on everyone's behalf to the rest of the world, who will neither hear it nor care.

Or I could just go get some leftovers. Gravy, yum!

7. you made me want to hear Neil Young's 'Pocahontas'
"They killed us in our tepee
And they cut our women down
They might have left some babies
Cryin' on the ground
But the firesticks
And the wagons come
And the night falls
On the setting sun.

They massacred the buffalo
Kitty corner from the bank
The taxis run across my feet
And my eyes have turned to blanks
In my little box
At the top of the stairs
With my Indian rug
And a pipe to share."

8. Personally we're celebrating fall harvest festival and being grateful, thankful, for who and what
we have in our lives.

Not "gorge ourselves and celebrate our successful conquest of the North American continent". Don't include me in your "we".

10. Thanksgiving is for gratitude
Politicizing it is disgusting.
