Poll question: Just getting in. Can't believe KO left. Question: Did he quit, or was he fired? |

I'm just getting the news. I just watched his farewell. I don't know what to think. I hope he goes to CNN. I hope he doesn't just stop. But I gotta wonder. I know the timing with the NBC/Universal/Comcast thing suggests he was fired. But is that actually the case? What do you think? Am I missing important info? If so, please share.

1. according to TMZ, he was fired, and given $14 mil. |
|
the amount he would have made in the two years left in his contract.
(There's a thread around here somewhere citing that but I'm not into searching right now)

2. Stuff has been reported, but I don't believe any of it. The Keith is his own man. They have pushed |
|
him in the wrong direction. He didn't like it so he told them to FO and they "fired" him. Meh. They haven't silenced him.

3. Probably not really fired |
|
What sometimes happens in situations like this is that the victim gets a warning that the axe man is coming and has a brief window in time where he can gracefully exit.

4. IMO he quit because he knew they were going to fire him. |

6. I suspect that, when he was suspended in November... |
|
...his return was pretty much agreed to at the time as a temporary, face-saving one for both parties until a buyout could be negotiated.

9. It has all the hallmarks of firing |
|
If it is true he is being given the remainder of the $7 million dollars per year on his contract and that there is some kind of "non-compete" clause that will prevent him from being on television for that time, and given that he said essentially nothing, it sounds pretty much like a standard 'firing' deal.
