She had a phone conversation with Ron Howard. While they spoke, the images on the screen over and over and over were scenes from the show in which Howard played Griffin's little boy, a still shot of several members of the cast, after Howard was grown up and a film of Griffin with Dummya.
They should not have done that (shown him with Bush) at all. This is not a political occasion, even if MSMNBC is a political station. After all, if anything could make Dummya seem likeable, it would be showing him and Griffin together.
However, having done that repeatedly, they should at least have noted that Griffin and Howard made a campaign film together, dressed as their characters from the show, in the same scene as the opening of the show, for President Obama. As it was, it seemed that Griffin was a fan of Dummya. Therefore, they managed a misleading obituary. Pretty craven.
Then again, what would one expect from Ms. Greenspan and her staff?
Remember, this was the same news organization that fired Maria Shriver as a special correspondent as soon as her husband declared for primary for Governor of California, on the theory that Maria would no longer be seen as objective about ANYthing. (As if a the daughter of a Kennedy and a Shriver was ever seen as objective anyway.)
FOX, disgusting as it is,, is at least candidly pro-Republican. NBC News has been pro-Republican for some time. MSNBC simply started hiring some Democratic anchors after the country turned against Dummya (and had Matthews, who had literally drooled over Bush, change to tingling over Obama).
Prior to that, MSNBC's anchors had been Republican from Don Imus in drive time to Dennis Mitchell at what was then the end of MSNBC's broadcast day. Now it pushes the Republican viewpoint in stealth mode, from Morning Joe until late afternoon/early evening, when the token Democrats show up.
