Blackouts.
Every summer, it seems to come as a shock to electric companies that people turn on air conditioners and fans in warm weather. Badda boom, badda bing. Blackouts. And people, especially babies and seniors die.
And government does nothing about it, except, when pressed, perhaps the occasional bark about the failure of the electric companies to take care of their constituents. Duh!
Executives of electric companies care about their salaries and, concomitantly, about generating profits for stockholders of electric companies. Re-structuring to make sure people are safe is not their priority.
Politicians, on the other hand, do get paid precisely to keep their constituents safe. Still, that does not seem to be their priority because Americans don't take their salaries and perks and jobs away anywhere near often enough. Who wants to work and think hard when slacking brings in the same paycheck, as long as pr is good?
In any event, how about one or both of you do your jobs so vulnerable populations do not keep getting putting at risk and everything else does not keep getting screwd up every summer.
meanwhile, shame on us for suffering silently with both of you decade after decade while continuing to pay both of you more than most of us make.
yes, i blame the politicians and the 99%. i blame you and me, too.
