Republicans are not serious people.
I should say, Republican leaders in Washington are not serious people. I know there are many good Republicans in this country. It is unfortunate that most of them are under the spell of partisan propaganda.

But, Republicans in Washington are not serious about fixing the problems of government. In fact, they dislike the idea of government. For them, government is not for all the people - it is for a few. Whatever problems may arise, they do not have serious solutions. They will tell you that they support equality of opportunity, not equality of results.

Their answer to all our problems, from healthcare to the economy, is more tax breaks for the wealthy. They always want a stronger military to protect what they have created or inherited. You can never spend too much on the military.

That is why they always demand cuts in people programs, rather than cuts in military or tax increases on the wealthy. Social Security and Medicare do not have to be in financial trouble. They can be fixed rather easily. We have more millionaires and billionaires ever in the history of this country. And they pay the lowest income tax rate since the 1920's. Our country is very wealthy when we figure in the wealth of the top 1% or 2%.

They are not serious or even concerned about the problems of the common citizen. That is why we cannot take seriously their ideas about fixing Medicare or reforming any social program. They cannot fix what they despise or hate. Their mantra about "smaller government" and "lower taxes" is not about the people, it is about giving more and more to those at the very top. This is anti-American at its core and should be rejected across this nation.

1. they are beyond civility and lack listening and comprehension skills.
from the several interactions I've had with rethugs over the years, they are the ones who start crap out of the blue. there will be something that doesn't even involve politics, like say, the size of ice cream containers getting smaller, and a rethug nutcake jackass will announce out loud to 10 people around them in line at the grocery store, that Obama's destruction American freedom is causing the companies to suffer losses, and they have to make smaller sizes for the same amount just to stay afloat! They do this shit ALL THE FUGGIN TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Any random story online that allows comments will quickly be filled with an anti-Obama series of comments by people obsessed about him. I don't know how this country survives if Romney gets in, when we're already teetering on the edge trying to pull back from the disastrous policies of Lil Boots Dum Fuhrer and shark mouth VP... And these politicians in the GOP have no desire to seriously address the problems America faces, and all they will do is provide the rich with an ever increasing lowered tax rate, while the nation suffers. They somehow need this charity, apparently...

3. This is what happens when you conflate a political party and religion.
you get a bunch of people zealously being very ugly for God.

They give God a bad name.

4. They are a lot worse than not serious, especially if they succeed in
raising the cost of Medicare premiums by $6000 a year, as the Ryan Rand plan would do. The annual income of some seniors is not much more than that and they cannot afford their co-pays as it is.

So, it is a Soylent Green plan, but without the compassion.
