Brown pulls ahead of Warren 49-44. In same poll, people prefer that Democrats control Senate

Brown opened a 49 percent to 44 percent lead over Warren in the latest poll, released today by Public Policy Polling in Raleigh, North Carolina. The survey suggests a weakness that Warren is seeking to exploit, as 53 percent said they would prefer that Democrats retain control of the Senate next year.

Independent voters backed Brown 58 percent to 32 percent in the Public Policy Polling survey, little changed from others taken earlier this year. While Democrats outnumber Republicans three to one in Massachusetts, 52 percent of voters are independents, state figures show. The automated telephone poll of 1,115 likely voters from Aug. 16-19 has a margin of error of plus or minus 2.9 percentage points.

If you want Democrats to retain control of the Senate, you damn well better vote for Warren, ffs!


The race has been neck and neck, but the Brown turd is now ahead and beyond the margin of error. And it is not a matter of money. Supposedly, Warren had raised more than he did and is spending at least as much as he is.


I strongly suspect that ads by a few so-called Democrats endorsing Brown played a role in this.

Those ads, like all Brown's campaign messaging, portray him as voting non-partisan, which is how he has tried to portray himself (after he stopped pretending he was somehow associated with JFK). However, I would bet that he never voted against his caucus when it made a difference in the outcome.

In Massachusetts, he ran for the state legislature as a Republican a number of times and voted with his caucus 96% of the time and still called himself independent when he first ran for the U.S. Senate. IOW, a typical Republican deceiver.

Brown did say very quickly that there was no place in Congress for the views that Akin expressed.

Men favor Brown by 20%, while women favor Warren by only 9%. And, I am sorry to say it for i try hard not to stereotype, but things like that make me so mad at my fellow females.

2. THere are plenty of idiots here in MA

I am generally very proud to be a citizen of MA, but there seems to be a lot of people who think Brown is moderate and "reaches across the aisle" which is bullshit. When the repigs need him to do their bidding, he is on a very short leash. He is completely owned by big corporation and works for them.

3. What puzzles me is that no ad of Warren's points that out.

So far, I have not seen any PAC ads for either of them, either, only ads in which one of them says he or she approved the message.

He did negative campaigining about the whole stupid ancestry issue, so I am not sure what is holding her back from exposing the truth about his voting record.

4. That's hard to understand, that women favor Warren by only 9%.

Maybe they don't know enough about her? I first learned about her in Michael Moore's 'Capitalism, A Love Story'. I didn't know anything about her, but I was so impressed by her in that movie. When I saw her again, I was thrilled to see she was active in public life and hoped she would run for office one day.

Maybe MM should hold free showings of that movie. It came out just a bit too early imo, as people had not yet realized the full impact of the Financial Meltdown. Now would be a great time to re-release it. I am going to watch it again as we know so much more now. MM is always ahead of his time.
