1. No one has to convince me, or any Democrat, that Republicans are bad.

I am really interested in knowing, though, how we get Democrats to govern better after we have elected them.

Being better than Republicans on some issues is nowhere near enough.

We call elections "races," but, unike other races, going across the finish line as the winner is not the only goal. The goal is getting the country we want during all the years in between elections.

For just one thing of many, we can go on about Akins all we want, but no one ever repealed the Hyde Amendment, did they?



As far as 30 million more people getting health care because of ACA, that is simply not true at this point, if it ever was.

More people have to buy health insurance, that is true. And the Supreme Court did uphold that one part of ACA. Why not? Being able to force us to buy things from private job creators is a great Republican case law precedent.

However, expansion of Medicaid was supposed to be the safety net for the group of people that needed free or inexpensive coverage the most. And the Supreme Court declared unconstitutional the only way the ACA provided to "persuade" states to expand Medicaid.

So, after the Supreme Court decision, we are left with the least desirable part of ACA, but without what was supposed to be a major benefit of ACA. The bottom of the ladder got thrown to the wolves, as usual.

As for Springer, even though he is correct about Republicans and intelligent in general, he consciously chose vast amounts of money over political credibility.

Whether or not I would have made the same choice, I certainly understand his choice. However, he can't expect to have it both ways. He needs to take his money, sit down and shut up. He only embarrasses Democrats now by trying to support them.

2. I like this:

Near enough would at least include investigating and prosecuting Wall Street criminals and war criminals from the last Administration.

"Looking forward" is not better enough.

3. All crime is in the past. 'Looking forward," however, is not the approach we take to all crime.

I think what he meant to say was, "I am not about to set any precedents that I might regret when I am the outgoing President."

It was not only that Obama did not prosecute Dummya, he honored him.

Sending him and Bubba to Haiti was one such honor. Making him the first call after Osama started to swim with the fishes was another honor.

And then there are white house meetings whenever Poppy is in D.C. that don't even appear on Obama's schedule or get any publicity at all.

When asked what the men discussed and why it wasn't on the schedule, the White House released a statement saying, “The three men enjoyed a personal visit in the Oval Office – as they have done on previous occasions when President Bush is Washington.”

Still, Jeb thinks Obama should be more vocal about expressing appreciation to Dummya:

“I would argue in some ways, by reality seeping into his life as commander in chief, that a lot of is modeled after 43,” Jeb Bush told Charlie Rose on CBS’s “This Morning.”

It would be nice — a little tip of the hat would be a nice thing,” added Bush, who said Obama was probably more like his brother George W. Bush, than his father, George H.W. Bush.

4. Jeb. What an asshole.

I guess Obama didn't recognize that a guy that was not legally elected president and used the nation's intelligence resources to fabricate reasons for going to war is not worthy of respect.

Under Dubya the United States of America engaged in torture, just like our Fascist enemies in WWII. Apparently Obama is fine with that.

Hell, I think they faked the whole terrorist incident, you know the one, the big one, the one with numbers. In the confusion they staged, they then looted the wealth of a nation in a variety of ways and the big coup was in electing Obama, the supposed agent of change that was anything but.
