PALM HARBOR — Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi didn't mention Todd Akin's comments from last week about "legitimate rape."
But in a speech before the Florida delegation on Tuesday, Bondi said any talk from Democrats about how the Republicans aren't supportive of women is nonsense, and she asked conservative women to put a stop to it.
"When people say our party isn't pro-women, it's just ridiculous," Bondi said. "Under President Barack Obama, 401,000 women have lost their jobs. It's about jobs. We have to keep going out and spread the word."
Bondi said she had been on TV 10 times this week saying as much, and asked women in the audience to counter the Democrats.
"I'm sick and tired of hearing that Mitt Romney isn't pro-women," Bondi said.
.....
"I've got to go work on my speech a little bit," she told the delegates.
Look in the mirror, Ms. Bondi.
