For Enthusiast
The parable of the prodicgal son says, among other things, that the one who leaves and returns is valued more.

I am not sure that is always so. (Just ask Arlen Specter.)

I am certainly glad you returned to DU@. Then again, I always valued your comments.

I am probably closer to you in political positon than I am to other DU2ers, but, for me, that is not important. Still, it's good sometimes not to feel as though you are "way out in left field," as my mother in law might say.

Anyway, regardless of your spot on the political continuum, I value your presence on DU2 very much.

We both want politics to go in a direction that is good for the 99%, so we are brother and sister, whether or not we agree on every small detail along the way.

I am so very proud to be posting with you!

3. Oh, dear. I meant "buried," of course.
I wish I had either better vision or more patience for spell check.

haha, but seriously, its the content, not the grammar I love about your posts...

I'm considering making the move to the new DU... they have made several changes that I wanted, but one of the main ones (lack or real Modding) is still a concern, so I don't know. still sitting in hospital w/my sibling. fun fun....

6. I am usually hopeless, but with my keyboard not working....look out!
Wishing you and your sibling well. I was in Mass General a long time once. I honestly think it is harder for loved ones than for the patient. But, I cannot tell a lie. Neither position is a great one.

Love and hugs to everyone involved.

10. P.S. You will do fine at the new DU, if you choose to go there.
But don't forget to keep checking in here until they shut us down.

Cause you know how much we all love you.

7. Thank you, No Elephants!
I am honored. Honestly.

I use the "way out in left field" too. My mother used all sorts of quaint sayings. :hi:

9. My pleasure, literally.
On a couple of other boards that were more schmoozy and informal than DU, I started threads asking for sayings. I saved them, but they feel victim to computer crashes.

One of my favorites sayings that I can still recall was "looked rode hard and put away wet." Another was "hotter than the hinges of hell."

And one was "that outfit," but in reference to a couple of pieces of bric a brac or some household gadget with more than one part. I had the nagging feeling that I had heard the terms used in a similar way at least once before, maybe when I was very, very young, but I could not recall anything else.

Anyway, they were threads posted on by people from different parts of the country and various ages that everyone seemed to enjoy thoroughly, including moi.
