Battleground polls: Is Romney's path to the White House now more difficult?

Washington (CNN) -- One week past the conventions, a flood of polls have been released in crucial battleground states in the race for the White House. And some of them paint a picture that looks more favorable to President Barack Obama than to Republican nominee Mitt Romney.

The polls do have some things in common. They're all of the smaller pool of likely voters and all were conducted after the close of last week's Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, North Carolina.

And several suggest that Romney's electoral path to victory on November 6 is becoming more difficult.

2. True. To this day, I am embarrassed that he won the Governorship of Massachusetts.

Massachusetts has had quite a few Republican Governors, starting with the kind of gentleman Republican who was born to great weath. And it never much mattered because the legislature was over 90% Democratic and could override any gubernatorial veto it chose.

We had some less wealthy Republican Governors, too. But I cannot recall one so willing to change stories, backpedal, etc. as Mitt. I guess Massachusetts voters have gotten more "dupe-able?"

Sorry if I misquoted, but it's close anyway.

Mitt's problem is not that he is filthy rich, but that he loves money so much that he is not particular how he gets it.

Warren Buffet--another rich man. Lives very modestly. Cares that his secretary pays more than her fair share of federal taxes. Giving billions away to Bill and Melinda Gates because he feels they are better than he is at choosing the most useful ways to spend charitable dollrs.

I don't agree with all the says that the Gates's use their charitable dollars, but, hey, it's their money and they are following their consceience. And, it's his money and he has a right to admire their choices.

Mitt, on the other hand, never publicly stated that his secretary should not pay a greater percentage than he does. I am sure he gives a nice sum to the Mormon Church, but what else does he do? Well, we don't really know, do we, because he won't release his tax returns. However, we do know he has attempted petty chiseling on his tax obligations to Utah or Massachusetts by paying both states the lower resident rate for the same year.

Yes, I am sensing not only wealth, which is perfectly fine with me, but love of money. Show me your returns and prove me wrong, Willard.
