The worst economic conditions in "a generation---or two."
I've bragged on Massachusetts a lot on DU, so I am personally embarrassed by the statement Gov. Deval Patrick made on Meet the Press yesterday.

The above photo is of five generations of one family and the eldest woman is not even that old. (Photo appears in the wiki article on the word "generation."

Twenty years used to be the most commonly used definition of generation, but people are starting families later these days, so maybe it averages about 25 now?

No, Gov. Patrick, it has not been one--or two--(as you added so emphatically) generations since 1929, or even since 1941.

A politician, the highest in our state, who does not know the meaning of the word "generation?" Not as though demographics are unimportant to politicians.

And, while born in Chicago, he got most of his education here, too: Milton Academy, Harvard College and Harvard University.

I am so very embarrassed and I promise never to brag about Massachusetts on DU again.

1. The United States of America celebrates ignorance.
Office holders are seldom embarrassed by their lack of knowledge. Ever since Bush the lesser, office holders displaying ignorance has become ever more commonplace.
