Akansas Legislative Candidate, Endorses Death Penalty For Rebellious Children
Edited on Mon Oct-08-12 06:44 PM by Me.
No words have I.

"Charlie Fuqua, the Republican candidate for the Arkansas House of Representatives who called for expelling Muslims from the United States in his book, also wrote in support for instituting the death penalty for "rebellious children."

In "God's Law," Fuqua's 2012 book, the candidate wrote that while parents love their children, a process could be set up to allow for the institution of the death penalty for "rebellious children," according to the Arkansas Times. Fuqua, who is anti-abortion, points out that the course of action involved in sentencing a child to death is described in the Bible and would involve judicial approval. While it is unlikely that many parents would seek to have their children killed by the government, Fuqua wrote, such power would serve as a way to stop rebellious children.:…cont…

1. "Thy rod and thy staff,.they comfort me."
When the Bible speaks of a rod, we must think of a shepherd, not an executioner or a parent (or teacher in loco parentis) having a temper tantrum with a switch.

Shepherds do not use their rods to kill or beat sheep.

2. Afterthought: For the benefit of those who do not believe in the Bible, I am
not touting the bible as either divinely inspiring or not divinely inspired. I am simply pointing out that those who claim to believe that it is divinely inpired are using it to justify things it does not actually justify.

4. This is shocking behavior even for a Republican.
If the American people vote in a majority of Republicans and a Republican President I will forever lose faith in the nation. As is, my faith in America is now hanging by a thread.

5. Scary Isn't It?
In my home we describe as the insane electing the insane and we mean just that. Kill a child for being rebellious? Maybe they're rebellious because they live with psychopaths. And isn't rebellion a normal part of growing up and establishing one's own identity? I have heard things from the Cons these last four yeats that makes my hair stand on edge and frankly I don't see much difference between them and the Taliban who just shot a 14 year old child to shut her up.

6. Me, they are so close to the Taliban.
I can see our nation sliding into a place that we do not want to go. Strict religious dogma and intolerance are tools used historically to accomplish political aims. This has never been so obvious as in my lifetime.

I guess we should recognize that the not so secret Fascists among us don't plan to allow all this U.S. military power to go to waste. So they are amassing power and influence in any way they can. There is only that single historic parallel example that we are not supposed to recognize or talk about.
