http://www.motherjones.com/politics/2012/09/full-transcript-mitt-romney-secret-video Elsewhere at the Mother Jones site is the video. (Thank you Mother Jones and whoever the bartender at the fundraiser was.)
We have heard excerpts of his speech, but there is much more, with something for almost everyone. Or, should I say, something against almost everyone.
The day after this information came out, an MSNBC commentator was saying that a retired Republican, living on OASDI, said, "He doesn't mean me. I worked all my life."
If you feel like doing some anti-Romney work, give the link to your Republican friends, along with a link to a description of who makes up the 47% and what other taxes they pay.
http://www.motherjones.com/politics/2012/09/charts-47-percent-romney-tax-dataNotice that, even without paying income tax, lower earners pay over 12% of their income in other taxes. And Romney owed capital gains tax on his $20 million in investment income (that is one year's worth) of about that same amount, though in fairness, he, too, pays sales taxes and excise taxes.
But please remember to assure them that, unless they are paying income tax or as rich as Romney's big donors, yes, Romney does mean them, even if they did work all their lives.
After all, Romney worked only part of his life--prior to, you know, his retroactive retirement--and he received $20 million income in only one year.
So why in hell do they have to depend upon OASDI and Medicare after working their entire lives?
Why didn't they use their family's money and business and political contacts, like every other person who was born into a rich, very well connected family?
What the hell is wrong with their valuable Republican families, er, I mean, their Republican family values?
The only thing I wish about this video maybe is that it had been released this coming Monday, instead of "all the way back" in September because media has already long since stopped mentioning it and low info voters may not have focused all the way back in September.
