Sen. Portman (R) says losing in Ohio will probably be it for Romney campaign

FAIRVIEW PARK, OH -- Ohio Sen. Rob Portman, the chairman of Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney's campaign in the Buckeye State, said Friday that it would be tough for Romney to win the election without carrying Ohio.

"I'm feeling the pressure not just because I'm chairing the effort here in Ohio, but mostly because I feel the pressure for our country and what's going to happen over the next four years," Portman told NBC News on Friday while traveling between campaign stops for Romney.
"If we don't win Ohio, it's tough to see us winning the election nationally. It's possible, but it's very difficult."



Let's keep this lead in Ohio, then! I can't wait, and hope to see Ohio go blue again - and that will be a great sign for the president around 9pm election night.

4. I will do some poll watching here, just to watch how people are treated

I'm going to go up to the majority African-American polling areas and watch, probably have a sign and be a legal distance away from a voting precinct, and then go where anyone says things might be going on to record it. This county is very GOP controlled.

I was the only Dem in '04 who did it and really connected with a clear fundamentalist, hopefully it made him think about his obvious negative opinion of Dems.

I don't think I did any poll watching in '06, in fact I don't even remember the election very much, was I sober? LOL... j/k.

In '08 I was in Cali, and didn't do anything on election day but party at the Obama CA election HQ party, well, until Proposition 8 numbers started ruining the evening after Obama won.

In '10 I was the only person waving a sign in the county on a super busy intersection for the lady who should have been governor, Alex Sink. She was ahead of ricky the medicare fraud who made his vast fortune off overcharging the govt, until the final days when they claim a flub in a debate with reading a text on her cell phone against the rules, during a break, cost her the election. Like that many people watch governor debates in an off year for elections!

So, we'll see how it goes this time. I know the right wing extremists are insane this time. I read a few dozen posts on one of our local TV station's websites and I couldn't believe all the loony talk about what will happen after the election if Obama loses. They are deranged! So, we'll see how they take a loss for Mittens! ha

5. What happens after Obama loses. Eat cake, lose weight.

That's how one Democrat--I forget who--described Romney's campaign promises.

No taxes increases for anyone, no borrowing, operate the government and pay down the deficit.

that makes a victory path pretty close to certain for us!

6. However Portman frames it, all pundits I've heard say no path to 270 for Romney without Ohio.

Obama, however, realistically can get to 270 without Ohio.

All the yakkers are also doing tied electoral vote scenarios. If I see one more tied vote chalkboard, I just may spit up.

I can't believe a tie is actually that much of a possiblity. I think they are FAT (Filling Air Time) and trying to stay revelant.
