I’m sure Allen West has a bright future.

Just not anywhere around here. That ought to be clear by now.

Congressman West made a big splash on South Florida’s political scene as a buffoonish bitter commando who wanted to “take our country back from tyrants.”

He says all the "fix your bayonets" talk got tiring.

Interesting to me is that he quotes the Martin County sheriff, "a Republican who ran against West in the primary and endorsed Murphy(D) before this week’s election."

“As a Republican for over 30 years, I’m embarrassed by the radical fringe that has taken over the party,” Crowder said in his endorsement. “Sadly, Allen West is their poster child, and the hateful, divisive comments he’s made throughout this campaign make it clear to me he’s the wrong choice for our district.”

There is one especially disturbing post in the comment section...note the part about government interfering in their Medicare.

I agree with the first two posters. As a lifetime florida resident, I happen to think most people around here think the same way as Col. West. We are tired of liberals trying to get government involved in our pensions, our medicare, and our God given rights as leaders of the free world. These liberals want to control everything except the stuff that matters. They think women should make decisions regarding their reproductive rights and think everyone, including the gays, should have the right to marry whomever they choose. Someone needs to tell them that this is America, specifically Florida, and while some of this nonsense goes over well in the rest of the nation, we here are putting our foot down. Col. West is known all over the nation as that congressman from, you guessed it, Florida. That puts us on the map for something good for once. I dread to see what the other guy will do for us, much less how much control he allows gays, women, and minorities once he's in office.
