The Election is over and DU3 still sucks

I toughed it out to try and help Obama Win. Now that it's over, I'll check-in here on occasion but I'm done on the new site.
I often wish for the old Days when it felt like being part of a family here. So sad. I miss everyone.
Not even going to say Goodbye.

1. I'm sure the admins are floating around in a sea of cash right now

Having held out for cold hard cash and a lowest-common-denominator moderating system, and forcing people to pay cash to get into the discussions during the election, they're probably in the gravy for now. Next year though? Hmmm... I think we might see them asking us what we want rather than telling us what we're getting.

I did post on DU3, about five times over the entire election season. Didn't like it much. It seems more like a joke than a community. Oh well, we can rest for another three years anyway, and see what's around then.

As for DU2, I think they ought to donate DU2 to the DU2 community and let us host it as the member supported Democratic Discussion Board it was always meant to be. I think that's the only fair thing to do with that which our donations built.

What really bothers me is the surveillance there. There is one that is an unallocated IP. No way to determine who it is or where it comes from. Lots of other suspicious connections as well. Do a netstat and see what I mean.

I got familiar with such nice people I did not know at all before because I hung out only in LBN before.

LG made a good point about not getting replies. It's very frustrating to post something you feel is important, but most people never see it because the trolls are so busy pushing OPs down the stack as fast as they can. Within a minute or so, your post is half-way down the page.

As far as posts moving downward, there's no happy medium, it seems. Either you're on a board where posts move too quickly to be seen, let alone fleshed out, or you can come back after two days and find one or two new posts.

I am not sure what can be done about that?
