Um, yeah, so... almost nobody replies to me on DU3 so I think I'm gonna hang out here instead.
Where all the cool people are.

That being said, I wasn't posting much of anything online in the run up to the election, because:

not only was I watching the MSM news a lot this week and didn't have time to post because I was too busy watching the news and gloating about the Republican loss,

(one does not have to be an enormous fan of the administration to appreciate a good Republican ass-whooping)

But I got hit with bad news on the project I been working on, right on the day before election (and some of the folks were only in town until the day before the election... something about the fifth... @_@ and running around town with them)

And have been scrambling to keep the whole thing from falling apart at the last minute because we lost the space we thought we had secured for the project. Probably because of the unpopularity rubbing off on us from local Occupy.

Plus, that made my sleep wake cycle too accurate, so now I'm falling asleep at 9-10 pm and getting up at 9 AM, bad for blogging!

Did I mention this sort of setback has previously happened several times to the same project which is why my posting on DU fell off in the first place, especially after I recruited at least one DUer IRL? (He's doing a lot of stuff to help keep our nonprofit going, but often at each others' throats) Should I try and recruit other folks from DU I wonder? The only sane people I know who are real (not fake) progressives seem to be the old-timers here on DU. NYC knows where I live, maybe he could refer me to other DUers in my area who are interested in community work

If there's a silver lining, someone from a major arts organization called me today in response to a random query and professed to know exactly who I was... I had no idea who he was at first... this turned out to be a good thing :-)

---

I did post this before the election and this on DU3 today...

---

I'm only stepping up my pony posts since a new season of ponies is about to begin tomorrow. I'll let you know if it is good or not...

1. ha! yeah, well we like it here with our 1-5 post replies knowing that's all we normally get, but,
that's better than DU3 where 500 might click on a post and 1 person replies. ha!

and yep, what disheartened Dem who was ever upset with Obama couldn't possibly have had one of the best nights of their life watching the GOP take a major ass-whoopin' Tuesday nite. I didn't watch Faux Noise Channel, so, I got extra humor on Wed with the videos of Rove whining that Ohio was called too early! LOL. Sounds like he was mad they didn't have time to put the fix in on Bain owned voting machines.

congrats on the contact from the guy at the arts org! :)

2. Thanks! Re: the election, I especially like that Tester won
I was really rooting for that guy (and knowing sadly that lots of folks wouldn't notice or care if he lost.)

4. Hence my Skyrim post
On DU3... not so much due to knowledge of the computer game, I just think the music was appropriate. :-)

Heitkamp I'm glad the Republican lost but everyone in North Dakota (including Heitkamp) seems committed to doubling the US consumption of oil, unlike the Republicans in Nebraska who are opposed to Keystone Pipeline, oddly enough. It'll be interesting to see how they react to the proposed blockade of the pipeline by movement activists... many of whom aren't big fans of Obama after the administration helped local cities evict occupy this spring.

8. Hopefully, more of the old-timers will wise-up and wander back in.
It would be great to have the Family together again.

9. It would be so nice, but I tend to doubt it.
And, if it did happen, we might be shut down.

14. why they'd have to pry DU2 from my cold arthritic hands!
but I get catch your drift... I dunno, though. I think the guys in Admin would leave us alone, basing it from my experiences with them. the dozen or so that come in and out here get along wonderfully, and frankly, I'm sure even if they don't visit here, they respect the nostalgic feelings we have for DU2. I have nearly perfect memories of my time modding... nearly.

plus, Admin has left us posting privileges here, after all.

16. Yes, and we are grateful.
However, it would be unreasonable to expect that to continue if many DUers returned to DU2 and left the Admins lonely at DU3, as formerica was wishing.

I did not mean to seem ungrateful by saying that, though.

11. I love the scene at them playing at the Redneck Bar.
It looked a lot like the one we used to hang out in, except it didn't have Chicken Wire in front of the Band.
