I don't know what the game is here, but I'd stake my life that it is a game and the game is over money.

1. I watched the 60 Minutes piece of Sunday.

It was compelling.

But you are right. The game is money.

The workers they showed were learning to operate computer controlled machine tools. This is a skill that requires quite a lot of expensive training, especially when the trainees don't even have a high school education. One thing that struck me was the wages they cited. $12.00/hour! 60 Minutes acted like those were respectable wages. Workers made that much doing the same jobs thirty years ago! There are plenty of jobs if people are willing to do technically challenging work for near minimum wage. This is downright sickening.

2. I have a feeling it's also about getting visas for folks who will be thrilled with even less.

The job creators have their own version of a Dream Act in mind.
