Report: Sheen slashes Lohan's IRS bill

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 25 (UPI) -- U.S. actor Charlie Sheen rode to the rescue of Lindsay Lohan with a $100,000 check to help pay off the Internal Revenue Service, sources told TMZ.com

The celebrity website said Sunday Lohan was recently handed a bill for $233,904 for back taxes owed from 2009 and 2010 -- a tab Sheen's contribution cut nearly in half.

Sources told TMZ Lohan and Sheen became friends this fall while filming "Scary Movie 5." Their camaraderie turned into commiseration over Lohan's situation with the IRS.


Sheen reportedly offered to help out and Lohan at first declined; however, the actor cut a check anyway and sent it to Lohan's manager. The funds were quickly relayed to Uncle Sam.

I've always liked Sheen as an actor and, in his sane moments, as a person; and I hope that he can stablize permanently sometime really soon. And Lohan is, IMO, one of the saddest stories in Hollywood, a town full of sad stories.

Yeah, I was a Sheen fan at one time. Lohan, not so much. Addiction is the worst. I've seen it up close and personal. Very close. Ugly.

2. Addiction destroys people

Even the best of us can fall prey to it. I've known people who became addicted to to an accident or disease. Good people, upstanding citizens turned into slaves of their addiction and just trying to feel 'Normal.'

4. Oh, yes. Anyone can fall prey to addiction.

But it's hard to be sympathetic to willful stupidity. When you are in a hole stop digging. I know, easier said than done.

My body is in serious pain nearly every moment. But due to the ravages of celiac disease I cannot take NSAIDs and opiate painkillers are also be problematic. Addiction to pain killers would be only a moment away. So I suffer through.

Some begin with very little willpower. Then, that inadequate willpower is eroded through drug use. That is how I see Charlie Sheen. No willpower, then he foolishly exposes himself to powerfully addictive substances. If he ever gets sober he will wonder how he could have been so fucking stupid. Lohan too. But who am I to judge? I don't know their lives.

Addiction should be treated as a medical issue. And it is if you have enough money. Otherwise, addiction is treated as a criminal issue. This country sucks. It is far from the greatest nation on earth. Not even close.
