Speaking of the fiscal cliff (and who isn't?),
why is it that everyone uses the semi-scary phrase "going over the fiscal cliff" together with "cutting entitlements?"

Why not "going over the fiscal cliff" and "cutting safety nets?"

Inquiring minds already know.

1. We can see from the carefully crafted public narrative
exactly where their hearts are. My question for die hard President Obama supporters is, "Why did the President appoint two known anti-New Deal zealots to head up the Simpson-Bowles deficit commission in the first place?"

2. Not only Bowles and Simpson, but also folks like Baucus and Ryan.
Good link, thanks. I have seen posters who identify themselves as Democrats praise means testing as a solution. (Solution to what, by the way? A system that has always supported itself?)
