Good on Oregon Congressman Peter DeFazio
I hate to keep boosting Massachusetts, but he was born in Massachusetts, where he also went to college.

He was on MSNBC this morning, saying "a bump in the road" instead of "the fiscal cliff."

And he was adamant about not cutting Old Age, Survivors and Disability Insurance (aka Social Security) or Medicare or Medicaid or taking away the home mortgage deduction.

I would rather have my taxes go up briefly (which can be fixed retroactively, when they do pass legislation) than lose the home mortgage deduction or any part of Medicare or Medicaid.

But, boy is the media beating the drum on cutting safety nets, even more so than they did for the Iraq War.

1. I'm a Pete fan.
I even sent him a small donation knowing his position of "entitlements".

3. Communist!
FDR is so twentieth century. We're forward to the nineteenth century now, my friend.

Get with the program, Comrade.

5. But, I was trying to be menacing. "Buddies" is not menacing.
Or, is it?

8. Well, I was trying to be menacing in a way everyone would know was a joke.

AFter all, I am not likely to turn you in to the USSR, and the USSR in 1950, at that.

You're right, I can take being kidded, but I did not know what you were talking about.

So, I did what I usually do when I am unsure. I googled.

FYI: Googling buddy handcuffs was not too bright for a mom.

9. Oops
I shouldn't be so outrageous with someone I don't know.

Glad you didn't take me up on it. Someone did once. They were very disappointed to find I was just kidding.

10. Sad to say, I was too naive to realize you were being outrageous.
I only got confused.

But, I am no stranger to confusion, so it's no biggie.
