'Socialism,' 'capitalism' top 2012 words

SPRINGFIELD, Mass., Dec. 5 (UPI) -- Massachusetts-based dictionary publisher Merriam-Webster chose "socialism" and "capitalism" as the top words of the year.

The publisher said the words share the top spot on the list of the top 10 words of 2012 due to their heavy usage during discussions and debates about the U.S. presidential election.

"We saw a huge spike for socialism on Election Day itself but interest in both words was very high all year," said Peter Sokolowski, editor at large at Merriam-Webster. "Lookups of one word often led to lookups of the other."

Other words making the list include "meme," which Sokolowski described as "the noun form of the adjective viral" when discussing Internet trends, and "touche," which the dictionary said one uses "to admit that someone has made a clever or effective point in an argument."

1. The center right nation notion is the big lie.

The confusion over the word socialism is being nurtured by the extreme right.

When polled on the issues the American people are way in the column of leftish. On the wars, on taxes, on health care and on social programs, the American people are to the left of the Obama Administration.

The big lie is the nation is center right. On what issue exactly are they center right? I can't think of one. These citizens might think of themselves as conservatives or moderates but in reality their position on the issues is decidedly not conservative. Remember this Rachel Maddow program?

Not Republicans, who tend to say that we have a right nation.

I did not say that the nation was center right

I did say that we had a center right Congress, but I should not have said that. I meant only the Democrats in Congress.

That Democrats in general or Obama specifically are Socialist or Communist is a Big Lie and one frequently told, which is why those words were so big last year. But that is certainly not the only Big Lie we are told. To the contrary, the one category with which the PTB and the media are very liberal is the Big Lie.

As far as Maddow, the problem is that poll results can be flipped.

When Obama was first elected, over 70% of the country polled in favor of a public option. But, the propaganda machine turned people against the public option. And then against Obamacare altogether.

The Republicans are great at messaging and the Democrats do very little to interfere with that.
