2. It reminds me of

Ken Follet's Pillars of the Earth. But I'm not so enamored with the RC clergy and especially the politically right leaning holy father.

3. Neither am I, but that building is amazing.

I am not a fanciful person, but, inside, you can feel 850 years of the prayers of believers.

And the sculptures and carvings are so rich, the eye can barely take it all in.
