The "fiscal cliff" hoopla from governement and media has by far surpassed the hoopla
from media and government about the necessity, advisability and ease of invading Iraq.

Those of us who fell for the run up to Iraq (not I) soon learned it was bullshit.

Seems as though the bigger the turd, the more frenzy the politicians and media try to drum up.

That's the real urgency of December 31. Actually going over the cliff would be so anti-cflimatic as to expose them as the fakers they are.

Fuck 'em all.

Twice.

1. That is why "teaching" us about the nature
and causes of the fiscal cliff requires so much effort by the media. They must say it again and again that social security and medicare are the drivers of the deficit. They must say it on every channel. And, did you know that people are living longer, much longer. And they are thinking about implementing a new, more accurate way to measure inflation, one that will not cut benefits. Nancy Fucking Pelosi said so!

2. The Iraqis treated us as liberators!
The oil paid for the war! It was all so fucking wonderful!

3. I watch as many Sunday talking heads new shows as I can--and then I
catch the re-run of Meet the Press on MSNBC. Call my penance for whatever I have done wrong during the week.

I actually heard, with my own ears, Dick Cheney say that we were going to turn a profit on the war. And that the Iraqis were going to hang flowers around the the necks of our troops. (I think he may have confused Iraq with Hawaii.)

Funny, I don't recall his mentioning the possiblity of creating Al Qaida in Iraq, more than 100,000 Iraqi refugees who'd be selling their little girls as sex slaves so that they could feed their other children and another generation of Arabs who will hate our guts even more than they did in 2000.

How these people live with themselves is beyond me.

5. I know. I've been thinking of switching to sackcloth and ashes, for comic relief.
