Obama Golfing in Hawaii With Pal Arrested in Prostitution Sting


HONOLULU, Hawaii — Taking a break from the fiscal cliff negotiations, President Obama is spending the first day of his holiday vacation golfing with friends and aides, including longtime pal Bobby Titcomb, who was arrested last year on suspicion of soliciting a prostitute.

Titcomb was arrested in April 2011 in an undercover prostitution sting operation. He pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor charge and the conviction was reportedly later expunged from his record.

First, no, you simply cannot tell me about a man named Titcomb who was entangled in a prostitution sting unless you want to see a double spit take.

Something is either still on a public record or not. It's a matter of checking. Otherwise, you are not a reporting. Smearing, maybe, but not reporting.

Third, the headline makes it seem as though, while golfing, Obama and his pal were arrested in a prostitution sting. Mr. or Ms. headline writer, if you did that deliberately, shame on you. You do not deserve your job. Ditto if you are incapable of writing a headline about the POTUS that is less ambiguous than that.
