Bradley Manning given credit for time served for excessively harsh treatment - oh, how gracious!
howsabout they drop some of those ridiculous charges? much more at link - - - http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/2013/jan/09/bradley-manning-wikileaks-mistreated-progressives

Watching self-proclaimed progressives attack and malign a courageous whistleblower, while defending the US military's patently abusive detention practices and steadfastly defending the government's extreme secrecy powers, is one of the most potent symbols of the Obama presidency.

An equally potent symbol is that at the very same time that Bradley Manning is prosecuted and threatened with life in prison for exposing serious war crimes, a government official who supported if not participated in those war crimes is being promoted to CIA director. This takes place in the same week when, as FAIR put it on Monday, "the only person to do time for the CIA's torture policies appears to be a guy who spoke publicly about them, not any of the people who did the actual torturing.

As usual, those who commit serious crimes in government are not punished but rather rewarded. Only those who expose those crimes are punished. That's the story of Bradley Manning, and what makes it all the more remarkable and telling are the hordes of Democrats who have spent several years justifying and cheering for this.

Pray for Bradley

1. Update
UPDATE (from the link above)

Yesterday, as noted, the military judge reduced Manning's sentence (if he's found guilty) by four months. But today, the same judge yet again pushed back the start of his trial by a total of three months, which consigns him to another three months in prison without being convicted.

By all means, take your time: it's only been 2 years and 8 months since he was arrested, all of which he has spent in a cage despite not having been convicted of anything. No reason to rush yourself in starting the trial.

4. I just read that Manning is transgendered. Does anyone know if that is so?
The reason that I ask is that forcing him to stand nude takes on a different dimension.

Either way, the treatment of Manning is another disgrace.

He does deserve our prayers.

6. I am not taking it as gospel yet. I read it on a message board. I am just asking.
But it would add another dimension to the nudity, just as dogs added another dimension in Abu Gharaib because observant Muslims must pray several times a day, but cannot ever allow dogs into the place where they pray.

7. I believe he's gay, but trangendered? not sure. regardless, everyone involved but the
gov't says they're abusing him emotionally. It just is so unjust.

8. I don't know either, but I don't see an Adam's apple in the photo either.
As I am sure you know, some females who go through the surgeries, or at least some of the treatments, to end up as males are attracted to males after the surgery, but as homosexuals. And males who go through a transgender process to become females are attracted to females, but as lesbians.

In fact all kinds of things happen that would not be your first guess.

Or, at least, so it seems from talk shows I've watched and stories I've read. I have not researched statistics.

I just have heard so many talk show hosts ask, "Why did you not just stay a female and date males? And the answer always is some variation of "Because, except for the exterior, which I hated having to have, I was just not a female.)

9. What happens if a judge knocks time off your sentence, but your sentence is
the death penalty?

What if it is life in prison? Are you obliged to die sooner?

I can't believe they did not allow Manning's lawyer to raise overclassification.

What fuckers.
