And, as part of Obama's seemingly never ending quest to associate himself with great figures like Lincoln, the State of the Union address just happens to be scheduled for this evening.

2. There were quite a few good Republicans back in the day; along with quite a few
bad Democrats.

Luckily, many of the bad Democrats gradually turned Republican after the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

Unluckily, there were enough remaining to give us the DLC.
