In my new effort to stop auditioning for the female lead in "Most Aggravating OP's in America," I googled good news and happy news, in hopes of finding a website from which I could cull some happier news stories.
The first hit I got under good news turned out to be a gospel website (duh, I should have thought of that. Gospel means good news).
The first hit I got under happy news was the happy news website. I have not yet checked it out, but here is the link.
http://thehappynews.com/happy-sites.htmAt the page linked above, the happy news website gives links to other happy news sites. I have not checked those out websites, either.
So, I am not endorsing any of the above. To the contrary, I advise proceeding with caution if you check out any of them: the first article that caught my eye on the Happy News site was about 10 best pizza joints in the US and that linked back to Fox News, not a good sign for a liberal, or any Democrat, for that matter. I don't even think their pizza choices are on point. And looking at the happy news site even a little, I see that Mr. Happy News himself favors borrowing on credit, but only for "defense" and "national security." (Anyone know what the difference is between "defense" and "national security?")
Maybe Mr. Happy News is part of the new normal movement: "sure, the 1% keeps screwing you and the rest of the world, but, having nothing and being damned glad for it, too, is the new normal. Don't worry. Be happy. The best things in life are free. However, the things that keep you alive so you can enjoy the best, free things in life all cost money--food, fuel, shelter, etc.. But, as the 90 year old man said of constant sex with his 20 year old wife, "Hey, if she dies, she dies."
Anyhoo....just eat your cat food with a smile and some gratitude and STFU. {And, above all, don't start talking class war or, gasp, revolution.}"
Anyway, I won't be checking out anything any further right now, but if you check anything out, please let us know what you think. No sense all of us checking out the same bad websites!
Hmmm. Somehow, this post didn't turn out as upbeat as I intended. Sorry. I will try again another time. Maybe I'll even get the hang of it one day.
And, if you find a happy news website that seems either left leaning or non-partisan, please post on that, too.
