"Hundreds" protest Obamacare in Washington, D.C.

First, the photo accompanying this story looks like 150 tops--and you can tell the photographer stood where he thought he would get the shot that beefed up the look of the crowd. I wonder what it would have looked like if he had stood in front of the group. Shame on UPI.

Second, we have a population of 350 million. What the hell does it mean that "hundreds" protested?

Third, how hard would it be to hire "hundreds" of protestors? I live in Massachusetts. I remember when the Koch brothers bused in people from out of to attend a Scott Brown rally the year he won a seat in the U.S. Senate. We got a media story saying people had traveled in "from as far away as Washington State" to hear Scott Brown speak. Yeah, right.

1. The Tea Party faithful
serve as nothing so much as a modern day equivalent of Nazi Brown Shirts. And the entire media is complicit in their effort.

2. Well, the media that would benefit from the proposed federal shield law, anyway.
Some bloggers tell the truth, but many of them would not be considered "journalists" or "publishers" by the definitions the feds wish to apply.

What if the feds were to announce they were passing a law that would protect only "real" religions? Or, heaven forbid, all sales of only legitimate guns?

3. Oh, I have heard various pundits proclaim
some religion or other a cult. Not that they are any more cultish than any other religion. But religions benefit from being established for decades or centuries. So there are "real" religions.

4. Pundits proclaiming a religion a cult is very different from government doing that.
The former is not only legal speech, but speech protected by the Constitution. And punditry does not make the difference between remaining free and going to jail. However, the latter is government action that violates the Constitution and is therefore government action that is illegal under the supreme law of of the land.
