1. "lying has become the staple"
I agree, totally. I also question the veracity of the Bin Laden story. It's another story that doesn't pass the smell test.

3. I really can't disclose what I think about Bin Laden.
It might come close to the actual truth.

I believe this nation is in one hell of a state, in every way, just look around. The government is overstepping the boundaries of a democracy, corporations have FAR FAR too much influence. We know the government isn't acting on our behalf but the media behaves as if nothing is happening. We are in a pathetic state. USA USA! We're number one! Except when we ain't.

4. It's a mess alright. We are now conditioning little kids to be searched daily.

5. Thanks, NYC_SKP.
The more of us that recognize the mess we are in, the more likely some steps will be taken to pull us out of this morass. Personally, I believe the Tea Party phenomenon is an artificial smokescreen to keep us from addressing the critical issues.

6. Thanks. For decades, Boston has put on an outdoor Fourth of July concert
that got more over the top every year. People brought blankets and food and wine and kids and arrived in the wee hours of the morning, dressed in red, white and blue, to stake out "their" spots on the grass.

It got to be a huge celebration of liberty and independence.

Don't ask what the security was like this summer after the Boston Marathon bombing.

And adults and children submitted to it much as shown in the photo you posted.

It was chilling.

So was the search for the brothers.
