Interesting title for a piece written by a former Democratic Governor of NY

(The title of the book Cuomo was reviewing is the considerably less sensational Tip O'Neill and the Democratic Century.)


Born in 1932 and the son of an Italian immigrant, I do not believe that Mario Cuomo would ever have become Governor in formerly patrician politics, had it not been for liberals of both parties.

Was the title of the review wishful thinking on the part of Cuomo, or was Cuomo trying to tell us something, for our own good? Or was the title of the article written by someone else to be attention-getting? (Sometimes, the layout person or copy editor writes the headlines.)

Don't suppose we'll ever know. So, no point to make, other than I found it intriguing from a 3 time Democratic Governor of NY whose son seems to aspire to a Democratic Presidential nomination some day.

I simply do not find Tip O'Neill interesting enough that I would read a book about him. Is that wrong? I am also guarded in my support of another establishment(Third Way)Democrat.

2. Cuomo the Younger?

I still remember his "shuckin' and jivin'" comment about Obama.

Three possibilities:

1. Cuomo is racist.

2. Cuomo is incredibly insensitive.

3 Cuomo agreed to try to play along with the subtle race card game the Clintons had been playing throughout the primary.

None of the above would cause me to vote for him.

Or Hillary.

Or Chelsea.

Cuomo's review.

In 2001, when he wrote the review, we had had only one liberal President. Hence, calling Tip O'Neill "the last liberal" struck me.
