Somewhere here there is a thread that says that your posts influenced my vote in the preliminary Boston mayoral election. The preliminary election was to narrow the field of a baker's dozen candidates to just two.
One of them was advertising heavily about championing charter schools. I researched the websites of the whole bunch to see which opposed charter schools (only about two did).
Unfortunately, the biggest darling of the charter school association was one of the winners of the preliminary--he had done the most advertising, calling, etc., but came in second-- and the other winner is fine with charter schools. So, in the election, I will be going with the second one, who is at least pro-union, as well as being pro-charter school. (Both say they are pro-public school too, but I am not sure that's possible.)
I recc'd your post here, but can't do so at DU3. Sorry.
But, it is a great post and I saw you are getting recs.
