Wiki on U.S. Presidential Assassinations (4 successful, many failed attempts)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_United_States_presidential_assassination_attempts_and_plots

The actual number of failed attempts may be greater than has been made public.
I am posting this in anticipation of the fiftieth anniversary of the JFK assassination.

In recent years, some media have ignored the anniversary, saying (if asked) that it was too long ago to be of interest to many people who are still living. (Cause no one living five years ago was over 50 years of age?)

But, the 50th has been drawing a lot of attention already.*

So scholar up!

If you really want to got for it, this OP at Firedoglake and quite a number of the replies have lots of links.

And then there was this interview of Oliver Stone by Amy Goodman, which I had posted here previously.

* For example, PBS has already aired its second hatchet job on JFK the first one having been aired a few years back. And, of course, while picking JFK apart, they take some swipes his father and brothers too.

1. Good stuff!
It's good to see that we are not alone on the Kennedy assassination. Almost the entire nation believes "they" are lying. And I feel the same way about Robert Kennedy. And I understand it is verboten but I feel the same way about 911.

I'm with Oliver Stone on the President. His behavior makes no sense.

2. I thought that was a really great post.
FDL has some great posters and, as I mentioned, the Sunday book club and other features are impressive. (John Dean has done two book clubs there, as have many other huge names that escape me now.)

I don't know why the site does not get more traffic. Maybe because you have to be either true believer Republican or true believer Democrat to get a big audience. FDL welcomes the full spectrum of the left, from center right Democrats to liberal LOTE voters to Greens to Marxists and every thing in between.
