I was going to save this to post on April 1, but who knows if DU2 will still be here then?

Personal life

Cantor met his wife, Diana Marcy Fine, on a blind date; they were married in 1989.<7><20><58> They have three children: Evan, Jenna, and Michael. Fine is a lifelong, liberal Democrat. Contrary to her husband's stated positions, she is pro-choice and supports same-sex marriage.<59>

Diana Cantor is a lawyer and certified public accountant. She founded, and from 1996 until 2008 was executive director of, the Virginia College Savings Plan (an agency of the Commonwealth of Virginia). She was also chairman of the board of the College Savings Plans Network.<58><60><61> Mrs. Cantor is a managing director in a division of Emigrant Bank, a subsidiary of New York Private Bank & Trust Corp. <62>

I can see someone avidly political marrying someone who is not interested in politics. But I cannot understand this. I could not live with someone whose worldview was diametrically opposed to mine.

2. I never would have guessed his wife was a Democrat. I am not convinced she is a liberal.
People tend to add "liberal" to Democratic automatically. Being pro-choice does not make her liberal. It only makes her opposed to a theocracy. She's a banker. I'm not saying no banker is liberal. I am just saying that "liberal" is thrown around way too loosely these days. If you're left of Ryan, you're supposedly liberal anymore. It's bs.
