are Sanders, Warren, Brown and, from time to time, Al Franken (even though he seems to love voting for cuts to SNAP). Feingold would have been in that group too, but oops, he is gone.
All of them currently in that group, even Sanders, are dependent for their re-election and their power while in office upon the good graces of the Democratic Party, most of which is Third Way. So, while they may advocate for this position or that, in the end, they will mostly vote with their caucus, especially if the vote is close. Not that advocacy is meaningless, but, in the end, advocacy alone is not going to change lives.
Most Governors, I don't know much about. I know the usual about the more high profile Governors like Christie, Walker, Scott, etc., but I don't have deep knowledge of many of them.
Schweitzer, I have not researched at all. He'd have to go some to be less appealing to me than Hillary, though. But, the fix seems to have been be in for Hillary. They've been touting her as inevitable--IF she even deigns to run, wink wink--since before November. IMO, it's been very brave of them to have made it that obvious that soon. That may mean they have ceased to fear us even a little, and even at the voting booth. I wish I could say, if they did, they are wrong, but I can't.
Yet.
