So since I believe she will be having a better life here than where she's at now, I voted other. But I hope she decides to stay here and be a good citizen.

THEY should decide where they want to live. All I would ask is that they, first, visit a few times whatever country they were thinking of moving to, just to get a feel for the place and be sure that's what they want to do.

They could even take Mom along for fun, if they wanted. O8)

I've got lots of family in Finland (all 4 grandparents were born in Finland) and am considering moving there in my upcoming retirement years. My kids seem to think they'd have a language barrier but it's Finland so no one would be talking to each other anyway.

my mother's citizenship) and have begged him to move. BEGGED. Unfortunately, he has a wife who doesn't want to even leave the state. Maybe if things get bad enough, they'll go. At least they'll have the papers to leave.

Without stating the terms or condition of which the Poll is targeted at, as in 'forever' for spring break etc I can't say.

I however add that I would urge and make my best effort to have any children I might have to spend time abroad either in vacations that were more than touristy crap or to study/work abroad if I could not move my supposed family overseas for some time period. Exposure to other countries/cultures/world view other than the US and the media has something to add to a person's character in my opinion and is something I'd very much like to 'teach' my children.

And my wife is Filipina. We have discussed retiring there. A good friend of mine has been there many times and he loves it. Hoping to go either later this year or next year.

I can see where the wind is blowing. Things don't look so good for the future of the US. I'm tired of living in this backwards, war-mongering country. I'll probably move to Canada, since it's the closest and probably the easiest to adapt to. Though, I wouldn't mind moving somewhere in Europe or Australia, if only to keep as much distance from me and the US as possible.
