They've were married in the 80s. The led a wonderful, exciting life, having been posted to many of the world's greatest cities as a CBS reporting team.
She is now in an assisted living facility.
He has a new life partner . . . . but has in no way abandoned Jan.
An incredible story.

Early onset Alzheimers. He now has a new life partner. The story ended with the constitution of this new three person "family." It was very touching.

I saw this story. How courageous for him to share this personal tragedy. I remember hearing of him a lot, but her name was not so familiar, perhaps because of her illness. Who would even think of holding it against him for having found a woman who is willing to stand with him in these joys and sorrows.
