in wishing they wouldn't do that. I don't want the newscasters to release bits and pieces. Let Obama deliver the speech, fresh and only as he can do so.

The defense & the prosecution must give each other a list of witnesses who will be called to testify in order that there won't be any nasty surprises. Actually, it's nothing like that, but it's what came to mind when I saw the question in the OP.
