Is RW radio throwing Michele Bachmann under the bus?
For those who don't listen to RW radio, she has been a huge hero to them. She goes on their shows and the male hosts and callers all drool over her. It's completely sexual, really weird. They all make jokes about their wives. It's like really old school schtick, like something out of the Honeymooners.

Now, this morning Bill Bennett says, "Obama gave his speech, Paul Ryan gave a speech in response, and Michele Bachmann gave a speech too. We're going to be talking about the first two."

Damn!

1. She has been stepping at the Powers That Be of the GOP
This is her retribution for being snubbed for GOP House Leadership positions, she is taking matters into her own hands with this and her new attempt to run for President.

7. Yep...She's Off The Reservation...
The teabaggers were the creation of Dick Armey...a member of the party elite and his Freedomwerks. Along comes Palin and now Bachmann who have tried to coopt the movement for their own purposes. There's a battle as to which one is the true Queen of the teabaggers as both let their egos think they stand an icecube's chance in hell of ever winning a general election. All they see/hear are the voices in their empty heads along with a small circle of like-minded morons that had manifested itself into a problem for the rushpublicans.

If the rushpublicans are to stand a chance in beating President Obama next year, they need to reign in the loose cannons and that may be the reason we're starting to hear the hate radio crowd distance themselves from these two. Bachmann's stunt last night was embarassing as Ryan is considered the real "rising star" and the teabagger response upstaged him. The fun will be how long it is when the cat fighting between the two divas and the party regulars as well as between themselves will begin in earnest.

Cheers...

10. It will take a Tea Party type to get beyond the Primaries
The monster that is the Tea Party will have a hard time with anyone outside their narrow focus for the Primaries. Of course that means only 30-40% come General Election time, but 2012 will be the GOP Year Of The Nut (TM). While there are a few relatively sane possible contenders (e.g. Thune), it will be hard for them to get above the white noise of Bachmann, Gingrich, and Palin.

2. I continue to maintain that women like Bachmann and Palin
are just spokes-models for the GOP: they are there to add style (well, as they would define it) but no substance to the message. As long as they are useful to the powers-that-be, we'll continue to see them lionized in the media. Once they start getting out of line they'll slowly start to disappear.

5. The "powers-to-be" are the right wing base that control the party now, and they
love Palin and Bachmann. The media covers what they both say, not what Romney or Haley Barbour are saying.

4. The republican base loves Bachmann and that's what matters. She could run in the primaries
and could win their nomination if Palin wasn't running.

12. I don't know about that
I guess it depends on what you call the base. We were deprived of seeing her rebutal on CBS last night. I heard some local RW talking head say that the "Country Club" Republicans lobbied the networks to keep her off the air.

If I was a Republican, I would be ashamed to have her in my party. That said, the wing nuts love her, so what is the base?

I think it's getting harder to describe and that's a good thing!

Is the base the guys driving 30 YO pickups with W stickers on them that believes if he keeps working hard at Joes garage, he'll get his piece of American pie, or is it the guys that own car dealerships??

There's as big a divide in the party as there is in the USA. I hope the whole thing comes crashing down. Republicans are just bad for the planet!

6. YES, they will do that to all the unelectable people this year. I will support her and Palin cause I
...know they'll be a good distraction and should waste some conservative resources

9. They may be conceding the obvious.

She's as crazy as a shithouse rat and there is no getting around it.
And she is at the point where they can't even dispute it.
