Axelrod: Obama Will Soon Enter Public Debate Over Gun Control
.... Wednesday afternoon, White House political adviser David Axelrod said President Obama will soon enter the gun control debate, his silence on the issue during State of the Union notwithstanding.

"There's no doubt that he will," Axelrod said in the West Wing's Roosevelt room -- it's just a question of how.

"I don't know exactly how he will approach it but obviously these issues are out there and have been accentuated by the tragedy in Tucson," he added.

6. That's funny; some sensible national gun regulation might make me feel much more positively about...
...Obama.

And as "they" always say, what are you going to do?
Vote for the Republican?

7. Bad move.
The smartest thing hes done thus far, is steer clear of the gun issue.

Getting involved with it is almost certainly a recipe for disaster.

9. 31 bullet magazines are dumb. Ammunition is
boxed in even-numbered amounts such as 20, 50, and 100...so 30rd magazines make much more sense. I'm up in the air on drums though (drum magazines), what's with 75 rounders? 100's for AK's and 120's for AR's are much easier to work with, who needs the hassle of keeping track of partial boxes of ammo?

10. guns aren't the problem - people who put "sights" on other people as threats and try to convince
mentally ill people to carrout their wishes are the problem.

11. Better not, political malpractice is the most likely return on the effort.
Ties in nicely with the police state though so he might go for it.

14. The best thing he could do...
...would be to call for an all-out push to break the information logjam and get the NICS records updated. That would be both politically expedient and practical.
