Did anyone notice Obama diss Biden last night at SOTU?

I haven't seen anyone mention this anywhere online yet... but I haven't really looked either.

Last night, as Obama approached the podium, he turned around and of course said a few words to Boehner, and shook his hand.

But then, he kind of gave a "I see you all the time, no need to shake hands right now" physical movement towards Biden... and never shook his hand too.

Both myself and my wife thought it was very funny.

Did anyone else see this?

If their relationship were more formal (e.g., Bush* and Cheney), I have no doubt a handshake would have been offered.

When Obama said Biden was from Scranton and that the Boner got started sweeping out his father's tavern. Obama has made a few jokes at the expense of Boner before. Especially his 'tan'.

Joe certainly seemed to know the "working class kid from Scranton" line was coming at the end. I loved his little fist punch when President Obama said it.

That wasn't a diss. Shaking hands may seem overly formal and not necessary sometimes. It was all very good-natured.

The utter burning scorn with which Obama regards all residents of Delaware, nay those of the entire Delmarva Peninsula, is well documented. Soon, so very soon, it will be his undoing.
