Face it, our SOS and diplomatic corps are having to thread the needle right now and Biden sticking to the "party line" obviously appears quite out of touch... Unfortunately, we may well be caught as flat-footed as with Iran in 1978-79.

What Biden is saying publicly and what SOS Clinton (despite her long history with Mubarek) is saying behind the scenes and through official channels are quite different, I am pretty damned certain.

Biden said Assange was "closer to a high-tech terrorist." Wikileaks has made the decision to take a much harsher tact to confront the increasing propaganda and other type tactics being used against them. Is it the correct approach? Who the hell knows, but not surprising.
