Crews Find Kidnapping Suspect’s Vehicle In Patterson Canal

PATTERSON (CBS13) – Stanislaus County Sheriff’s deputies say they have located the car owned by a man suspected of kidnapping a 4-year-old Patterson last week in a Patterson canal that they had been searching for days.

Deputies say they have clearly identified the license plate of the car kidnap suspect Jose Rodriguez was last seen driving when he allegedly kidnapped 4-year-old Juliani Cardenas from his grandmother’s arms last Tuesday.

Deputies have been using sonar equipment in the canal to detect items and had already recovered 11 cars from the water but none were connected to the kidnapping.

This morning, divers located the suspect vehicles canal wedged in an area of the canal behind another vehicle.

Although deputies say they do not know if the bodies of Juliani and Rodriguez are in the car, all evidence leads them to believe they were in the car when it went into the canal.
