what, exactly, is the point of your post?

I can't imagine any possible utility to speculating about what some media celebrity may or may not say about one or another world event.

Either she says something or she does not. If she does, there will plenty of opportunity for reaction to what she actually says.

It looks to me like the real reason you posted your OP is revealed in your final sentence: "Thank God Obama is president right now."

Why can't you be honest enough to simply make that argument instead of throwing in a completely gratutious bit of speculation about someone who we are better off ignoring altogether?

U.S. administration has done for the past 40+ years?

Are you really that clueless about all the dictators and autocrats that the U.S. government has supported all around the world as long as they danced to our tune?

The Obama administration has been just as happy as all the administrations before his to prop up the Mubarek regime as long as they cooperated with our policy toward Israel and made the proper noises about opposing "terrorists".

The U.S. government has NEVER bothered about what ordinary citizens may want from their leaders and their governments. Obama has simply continued this bipartisan foreign policy establishment philosophy with nary an objection.

Now that events have reached a state of crisis, he has to figure out some way of preserving the pretext that the U.S. stands for "freedom and democracy".

But it's a bald-faced lie, it's been a lie since the dawn of the Cold War. The U.S. has crushed countless movements toward freedom and democracy throughout the developing world for the sake of proctecting capitalism and the MIC.

Obama gets no credit from me for trying to cover his ass. If the Egyptian people weren't out in the streets, Obama wouldn't have done or said a thing to imply that Mubarek was an autocrat oppressing his country's citizens.
