What's likely to happen to Egyptian/Israeli relations if there is regime change in Cairo?

I was just thinking that Sadat/Begin & Camp David was a long time ago.

1. Depends on if they honor the peace treaty or not.

2. Too early to tell

Most likely the military will push Mubarak to the side and install a new "leader". You'd have the status quo with a new face.

3. Depends on whether Egypt gets anything close to a "real" democracy. People want peace, but

dictators (not to mention many conservative politicians) often need an "evil" (another country, race, religion, tribe) to try to focus national discontent away from his own repression or to justify it. "I have to repress you, else the "evil" ones will take advantage."

4. My concern is that democracy comes in the form of an "Islamic Republic"

..and that the new Egypt would be modeled on Iran.
