That is its sole purpose.
Yes, those people may say things that I heartily agree with, but if the advertisers and corporate bosses aren't kept happy, they will disappear in the blink of an eye.

4. I disagree, while imperfect, they provide an alternative viewpoint

in a media that is mostly right wing propaganda. Most people will never find the other alternative media outlets (radio, internet), but this one is in front of their faces and reaches people that less commercial media, such as Democracy Now, cannot reach.

I would, in fact, make the case that they provide a critical role.

6. Agreed. Read a blurb from Phil Griffin on the Daily Beast (Howard Kurtz article)

In it, it talks about Keith Olbermann made the ratings crunch work, but his interaction with the bosses created a 'bad' work environment. It seems to me that Kurtz was saying the bosses are conservative and
the workers (Keith Olbermann) are liberal. Does that even make sense?


In paragraph 4, it seems that Kurtz is saying Phil Griffin had to take down Keith to manage the network effectively. It seems to me that corporate governance means they have to blog their spin on Keith's firing. Maybe if they convince enough of us they, the corporate masters, are correct then they don't have to govern more democratically.

Hence, Ed Schultz received Keith's trained staff. Or better yet, Ed is the new Keith.
