2. Hands down Al Jazeera.. Perhaps other "news" organizations may be

shamed into following their lead... BBC isn't all too bad.. The American channels are a laughing joke. At least MSNBC is patching into Al Jazeera for info.

You know, human nature is really interesting. On the one hand, I hear people say the invasion was meant to free the Iraqi people. On the other hand, I hear people say it was for oil. But I never hear them discuss the real reason. A reason I don't like to discuss much because when I bring it up I lose my posting privileges.

11. I like the BBC.

It may not be the MOST informative, but it seems very balanced and fact-based. I usually tune to my local Fox news for sports and weather, plus whatever breaking local news happened that day. Yeah, I know...10 minutes of Fox is 10 too many. I get my US and world news from the Beeb.

12. Al-Jazeera? Really?

They have legitimate reporting, yes, but they have as much of a bias as the American networks do, don't kid yourself. It's just a bias people here happen to prefer.

I voted BBC - I never feel like I'm being pressured to accept a certain view of the facts when I watch the BBC.

15. Still gonna go with the BBC

Al Jazeera is probably the most informative when it comes to covering happenings in the Middle East, Africa, and Central Asia, but the BBC has pretty comprehensive global coverage.

13. The BBC

I don't know why Al Jazeera is on top in this poll unless it's because of recent events in Egypt; the only advantage Al Jazeera has over the BBC and all the others in that instance is in recources on the ground. The BBC wins overall for international news coverage that's both informative and neither sensationalised nor interested in promoting a particular POV. (I live in the UK and we get BBC News 24 here, which isn't as far as I know available in the States; there's really no comparison between the BBC and any American news network.)

18. Absolutely the Beeb.

Nobody else comes even vaguely close. The BBC World Service radio programming is my primary source of news and analysis.

Jazeera has its moments, but it really is heavily biased. At least RT isn't getting any love -- that channel is straight-up wacky.

19. Things may have changed, but CNN International used to be damn good--much,

much better than its "homeland" counterpart.

I was in Germany/Eastern Europe in '06 when there was trouble in Israel and they were the best source of info we found.

22. CNN International is still good, i hate it when they leave to go back

to regular programming in the US.

i don't have CNN International so i only get it when regular CNN decides to show it.

when i travelled a few times overseas CNN International was still one of my favorites.
