Sec Clinton on CNN: NOT calling for Mubarak to step down... yet.
...instead calling for new Mubarak govt to transfer power peacefully via free elections.

I guess she's not taking the wishes of the protesters into consideration - they want him gone yesterday...

1. Or maybe she actually has some sort of clue
as to what she's saying. An orderly and peaceful transfer of power would seem to be the best course of action. If Mubarak steps down immediately without any election plan, what happens then? Probably a lot more chaos. Military takeover? Another country trying to step in and impose their will? Neither of those scenarios seems to be a good choice.
